Below we have outlined the ways that people with iPhone or iPads, Androids, and laptops can connect to project Wellen on their TV.
Note: When possible, our team recommends Screen Mirroring over Screen Casting because Screen Casting is more likely to cause music playback issues.
Screen Mirroring (recommended): Your Phone/iPad/Laptop and TV show the exact same screen.
Screen Casting: Your TV shows a different screen and becomes an extension of your Phone/iPad/Laptop.
For iPhone or iPad Users:
Option 1: Screen Mirroring using Apple TV (iPhone, iPad)
Requirements:
An Apple TV device connected to your TV
A Wi-Fi network
Instructions:
Ensure both your Apple Device (iPhone or iPad) and Apple TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and Apple TV.
Swipe down from the top-right corner of your device (iPhone or iPad) screen to access the Control Center.
Tap Screen Mirroring or AirPlay (depending on your device).
Select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
Open Wellen on your device, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
Option 2: Screen Mirroring using Roku (iPhone, iPad)
Requirements:
A Roku streaming device connected to your TV
The Roku app installed on your iPhone or iPad
A Wi-Fi network
Instructions:
Ensure both your device and Roku are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and Roku.
Open the Roku app on your device (iPhone or iPad).
Tap the Devices tab and select your Roku device.
Tap the Remote tab, then tap the Screen Mirroring icon.
Follow the on-screen instructions to enable screen mirroring.
Open Wellen on your device, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
For Android Users:
Option 1: Screen Mirroring using Roku (Android)
Requirements:
A Roku streaming device connected to your TV
The Roku app installed on your Android device
A Wi-Fi network
Instructions:
Ensure both your device and Roku are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and Roku.
Open the Roku app on your device.
Tap the Devices tab and select your Roku device.
Tap the Remote tab, then tap the Screen Mirroring icon.
Follow the on-screen instructions to enable screen mirroring.
Open Wellen on your device, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
Option 2: Screen Mirroring using Chromecast (Android)
Requirements:
A Chromecast device connected to your TV
A Wi-Fi network
The Google Home app downloaded on your Android
Instructions:
Ensure both your Android and Chromecast are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and Chromecast.
Download and install the Google Home app, then follow the in-app instructions to set up screen mirroring.
Open Wellen on your device, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
Option 3: Screen Mirroring using Amazon Firestick (Android)
Requirements:
A Firestick streaming device connected to your TV
An Android Phone with screen mirroring capability (Version 5 or above)
Instructions:
Make sure both your Android phone and Amazon Firestick are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and open your Amazon Firestick.
Click and hold on the Home button for about 3 seconds, which will open a settings menu.
Click on Mirroring.
Next, on your Android phone, open Settings and select Connected Devices
Select Cast and choose your Firestick name if it is in the list of options.
If it is not, select the ellipsis icon in the top-right corner.
Check the box next to Enable wireless display. This will make additional devices such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick visible in the Cast list.
Select the name of your Firestick.
Your Android screen should now be mirrored onto your TV. You can login from Wellen and project your workout.
To stop screen mirroring, tap the Firestick's name from the Cast menu.
For Laptop Users:
Option 1: Physical Connection using an HDMI Cord (Laptop)
Requirements:
An HDMI cord
A device with an HDMI output (laptop or computer)
A TV with an HDMI input
Instructions:
Connect one end of the HDMI cord to your device's HDMI output.
Connect the other end of the HDMI cord to your TV's HDMI input.
Turn on both your device and TV.
Use the TV remote to change the input source to the appropriate HDMI channel (e.g., HDMI1, HDMI2).
Open Wellen on your device, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
Option 2: Screen Mirroring using Chromecast (Laptop)
A Wi-Fi network
Google Chrome browser installed on your laptop or computer
Instructions:
Ensure both your device and Chromecast are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and Chromecast.
Open the Google Chrome browser on your laptop or computer, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Cast.
Choose your Chromecast device from the list.
Open Wellen on your device, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
Option 3: Screen Mirroring using Apple TV (MacBook only)
Requirements:
An Apple laptop (MacBook)
An Apple TV connected to your TV
A Wi-Fi network
Instructions:
Ensure both your MacBook and Apple TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and Apple TV.
Click the Control Center icon on the MacBook's menu bar.
Select Screen Mirroring or AirPlay (depending on your device).
Choose your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
Open Wellen on your MacBook, and it should now appear on your TV screen.
Option 4: Screen Mirroring using Amazon Firestick (Windows PC)
Requirements:
A Firestick streaming device connected to your TV
A Windows 10 or 11 PC
Note: MacBook's require an additional application to screen share with a Firestick
Instructions:
Make sure both your laptop and Amazon Firestick are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Turn on your TV and open your Amazon Firestick.
Click and hold on the Home button for about 3 seconds, which will open a settings menu.
Click on "Mirroring."
On your PC, click the small square icon in the lower right corner to get to the Manage notifications window.
Click Connect.
Click your Firestick device name.
From there, your laptop screen will mirror to your Fire TV.
