For people with osteoporosis, posture training can be crucial in preventing spinal compressions. This is because low bone density in the spine can lead to a hunched-over posture, potentially causing further injuries and pain.

Appropriate exercises that help your body to maintain proper posture by strengthening the muscles that keep your body standing or sitting properly are essential.

Below are a few examples of Wellen's posture exercises:

  • Abdominal Drawing in Maneuver

    • The abdominal drawing in maneuver helps to strengthen and improve recruitment of the lower abdominal muscles, which provide support for your low back.

  • Deep Neck Flexor Upper Cervical Nod with Lift

    • This exercise strengthens the muscles in front of your neck and stretches the muscles at the base of your skull to improve the common forward head posture.

  • Lower Trapezius "Y" Exercise on Mat

    • This exercise is designed to strengthen your lower trapezius muscles, which are essential for pulling your shoulder blades down and and helping to maintain proper posture.

Proper posture can prevent pain in the neck, upper back and lower back, as well as other parts of the body. Appropriate stretches can help relieve tight muscles, preventing your back from rounding--stretches which are also included in Wellen workouts. These exercises and stretches can decrease the potential pain, strengthen your back, and promote better posture.
